Two years after its breakthrough show 48 Hours "On Crack Street," the team returned with a three-hour special, "Return to Crack Street," in September 1989. The show featured an interview with Attorney General Dick Thornburgh and visits to Florida, Georgia, Arizona, Texas, and Minnesota. Bernard Goldberg reported, for example, from the South Bronx and Dan Rather was in the Essex County sheriff's office in Newark, New Jersey. Produced by Catherine Lasiewics, the show aired on September 14, 1989.
